Monitors of the Intensive Care Unit and Operating Room
We all use monitors everyday, but oftentimes forget the basics of how they work, and this is such an important pieces of information we can't just let go. If we don't understand how the monitors we use daily work then it can be very difficult to know how to interpret the information they are providing for us to accurately and appropriately manage our patients!
This section takes us through the inner workings of the pulse oximeter, the sphygmomonometer (or blood pressure cuff both manual and automatic), the capnograph and finally the arterial line in order to better appreciate what it is these tools tell us and use them to provide insight into the state of our patients!
